I like the unglamorous parts of building for the web.
The layout that still holds at 320 pixels. The hero image that doesn't block first paint. The form that tells you exactly what went wrong. That's the work I enjoy, and it's the part clients feel even when they can't name it.
I studied Information Technology at Cordova Public College, started on the frontend, and moved steadily down the stack — APIs, databases, and the servers everything runs on.
These days that means Vue and Nuxt or Next.js on the front, Laravel behind them, and Docker containers on a VPS or AWS. I care about how a codebase reads six months later as much as how the page looks on launch day.
I also teach web development part-time, which is the fastest way I've found to notice what I only half-understand.
A marketing site for a wellness brand where the whole job is getting a visitor from “what do you offer” to “book me in” without friction. Services, packages and branch information are managed from a Laravel back end and rendered by a Next.js front end.
A working tool rather than a marketing site: images are optimised on the server with sharp, while video conversion and background removal run entirely in the visitor's browser through WebAssembly, so those files never leave their device. Running locally also removes the upload ceiling — a full-size phone video converts where a server would have rejected it — with live progress, cancel, and a before/after slider showing the exact size saved.
A full application rather than a marketing site: instructors run courses, teams and rubrics; students submit progress reports with image evidence and linked pull requests; grades combine team score, individual contribution and adjustments, and every component stays visible to both sides. Built and shipped end to end.
A hotel site carrying rooms and suites, dining venues, events and offers. Image-heavy by nature, so the build leans on tuned media and predictable section components to keep pages quick on hotel wifi and mobile data.
A district-scale property brand needs to read as a place, not a listing. The site is built around location, lifestyle and the estate's individual developments, with long-form editorial layouts that hold up across a wide range of screen sizes.
